Shadow’s still a young adult pooch, but I want to keep him healthy. So, when DOG IS HUMAN reached out to us to review their Daily Multivitamin product, I welcomed the opportunity. But what would Shadow think about a dog pet health care supplement?
Anything HEALTHY better also taste and/or smell yummy, too, because a wrestling match to stuff pills down Shadow’s throat just makes the boy run and hide. I’m extra careful about anything new, too. Keeping my pets healthy–and our bond intact–stays top of mind.

We decided to give this daily multivitamin health supplement a try for a month, and see 1) if Shadow accepts the supplement, and 2) what positive health changes we might notice.
First Impressions

The DOG IS HUMAN daily multivitamin comes in the form of a soft chew. You can add to the dog’s meal or offer as a treat. For dogs reluctant to eat the supplement, it’s soft enough you can break it up into pieces and mix into the daily food ration.
You give one for dogs up to 25 pounds, two for dogs weighing 25-75 pounds, and three daily for dogs over 75 pounds. For his size, Shadow gets two daily. He LOVED the taste of these beef-flavored supplements (they also come in chicken flavor) and gulped ’em down like treats.
But crumbling them up and mixing them into his food helps persuade him to eat breakfast (so he doesn’t get sick to his tummy–you know, that yellow foamy stuff, ew!). Every dog has their quirks, right?
What’s Inside?

Here’s what caught my eye in the product information:
- HUMAN GRADE (Made in Vermont)
- THIRD-PARTY TESTED (Not just a company line…)
- Helps Skin & Coat (Salmon Oil)–Shinier coat & less itching.
- Hip & Joint (Glucosamine)–Reduced inflammation for advanced hip & joint support.
- Digestion–Probiotics (and Postbiotics) support a healthier digestive system.
- Immunity–Better gut health leads to a stronger immune function.
- Heart Health–Salmon oil also provides additional cardiovascular support.
Positive changes and improvements are said to become noticeable after taking them four-to-six weeks. It’s an easy way to “treat” Shadow while supplementing his health.

A Few Weeks Later
With consistent use, I’ve noticed Shadow’s foot-licking-itching has declined. Part of that might have to do with changing seasons, but I also noticed his morning tummy-upset has decreased over the last few weeks. Changes thus far seem subtle, but are positive, and I’ll continue to offer him the daily multivitamin supplement for the time being.
Dog Is Human recommends about 6 weeks daily use for best results. The key is consistency. They sent me two bottles (60 count each) so Shadow has another month worth to keep those tail wags going!
Things to Keep in Mind
- Taste varies depending on your dog. Some dogs gobble it up, but picky eaters may need more persuading.
- It’s not instant: Think steady, gradual support, not overnight changes.
- Premium formula: Higher-quality ingredients come with a higher price tag, particularly for large-breed dogs requiring more per day.
- Supplement, not substitute: It’s part of the toolkit, not a replacement for a complete and balanced diet.
- Great veterinary endorsements on the website–but they don’t know YOUR dog, so always a good idea to ask your vet.
Final Thoughts

For Shadow-Pup, Dog Is Human daily multivitamin supplement was love at first taste. Just seeing the bottle turns on his wags. I appreciate the ingredient quality and am impressed by the 39k+ positive reviews on the website (who knew that many dogs could type, ha!).
When looking for a practical, science-based product to help support your dog’s general health, DOG IS HUMAN daily multivitamin has a place at the top of my list.
