Music has always been a huge part of my life. I sing, play piano and cello, and perform whenever I can carve out time between writing projects. But this year, I’ve stayed at home, avoided crowds, and even stopped singing for a while. We know that singing promotes the spread of respiratory viruses like Covid, so for me and many others who love music, the $%^! pandemic stole away one of our greatest pleasures and stress reliefs.
Singing Away My Blues…Music schtuff
Instead of attending church in person (Zoom anyone?) or performing on stage, I’m stuck at home. I’ve spent a lot of time in my recording studio preparing audiobook versions of my titles. But lately, the urge to sing overcomes me at the oddest times. Bravo-Dawg helps with howls! So, I’ve begun to record both audio and video of songs, some old favorites, and others my original work. This helps me express some of my overwhelming emotions–and offers stress relief. I hope, maybe-kinda-in-a-way, it may help other listeners, too.
