  1. Monday Mentions: Blonds, Pirates & Two-Legged Cats

June 18, 2012 by Amy Shojai

Fresh fruit right off the tree just tastes better than anything you can buy in stores. We had a bumper crop this year on our little peach tree. And last night I turned some of those peaches into cobbler–yum! Today’s blog also has some “fresh picks” that I hope will be just to your taste. :)

Monday Mentions is the mash-up-day of all the neato-torpedo links and videos, pet schtuff and bling and writer-icity crappiocca collected over the past week. Some of this “schtuff” can be hard to categorize and may fit more than one topic so I urge you to at least scan them all.

I also urge you to check out last week’s Woof Wednesday and Feline Friday blogs for a chance to have YOUR pet’s name featured in my upcoming thriller LOST AND FOUND.

  2. Monday Mentions: Blogs, Pet Food & Summer Colds

May 14, 2012 by Amy Shojai

I’m sick today, urk. No voice. Stuffy head. Feel exhausted. So that’s my excuse for the brevity. I’ve had folks suggest a number of remedies–eat marshmallows to coat the throat and my personal favorite, sip “Hot Damn” (cinnamon flavored schnapps). Need to snuggle with my Seren-kitty and have the Magical-Dawg deliver some chicken soup (but he’ll want to share…). Colds suck anytime, but summer colds are particularly aggravating. Hope y’all stay healthy and I promise, I’ve sanitized the links and suchlike so germ-icity won’t infect you today on the blog.

Do your cats and dogs know when you’re under the weather? How do they act? Do tell.

  4. Blogs, Podcasts, and Info-Dumps

April 7, 2008 by Amy Shojai

Seems to be more and more difficult to stay up to date on posting. Forgive the flurry of news, and I’ll try to categorize in separate entries (WARNING, info-dump ahead):

Last Thursday and Friday, I interviewed guests for the next four “Pet Peeves” radio shows. Last month’s final show (“Do Pets Go to Heaven”) has received quite a bit of attention, I’m pleased to say, and hopefully the next offerings also will get some attention. They include:

OUT DARN SPOT, All about pet potty stains and what to do
FURRY INFATUATION Why we Love Pets
SEX-SEX-SEX! and the Single Pet, Part 1 (and 2)
The first part covers spay-neuter issues, the age controversy, and health benefits.
Part two discusses the pro-con issues of mandatory spay/neuter ordinances

You can access these shows anytime (once they’re posted…one each week or so) by clicking on the Pet Peeves logo at http://www.petliferadio.com

I’ve covered some of the same issues, plus a few unique topics, at my daily “cat blog” at www.petside.com –stop by and browse, post a comment or two.

    best,
